Penny Cole

Penny has extensive experience in the charity sector at a senior level having been Director of Communications & Fundraising for United Response, one of the country’s largest non-profits and Head of Public Relations at Stonham Housing Association. Recently Penny has worked with West of Scotland Regional Equality Council, funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation’s “Fitter for Purpose” project. Penny has extensive knowledge of Trust fundraising, Lottery, HLF, and specialises in bid writing for grants up to £5 million.

Julie Foster

Julie has more than 20 years experience working in the charity sector, in senior fundraising positions for both large national and small start-up charities. Julie started her fundraising career in the NSPCC’s. She went on to establish a highly successful  fundraising & communications directorate for the national disability charity, FitzRoy. Recently Julie has specialised in high level statutory and trusts fundraising and has raised 6 figure sums from major grant funders, including the National Lottery. Julie is passionate about building up smaller charities that do incredible work! but is also equally happy working for large national organisations.

Zoë Strong

Zoë has over 10 years Trust fundraising experience, having worked for health, welfare, educational and environmental causes including the NSPCC, Marie Curie and Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland.
Zoë is experienced in developing Trust Foundation strategies and detailed pipelines that can be actioned by a member of staff or Zoë herself. Zoë has an MSc in Marketing Communications, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management and Leadership and a Fundraising Management Certificate.

Debbie Lyne

Debbie has senior managerial experience, most recently working as Director of Fundraising at Perennial. Since leaving Perennial Debbie has focused on her core fundraising skill which is Trust fundraising. Debbie has worked as a freelance Trust Fundraiser for RAFT medical research charity, Willow Foundation, MCT, and recently (2019) Waterloo Uncovered, where she is responsible for research and bid writing.

Joanna Marshall

Joanna runs Trust Fundraising UK which is owned by Abbey Solutions Ltd. Joanna has over 20 years’ experience of the sector and has worked in all major funding markets and national and international charities. Joanna has an in depth understanding of the Trust market and has great insight into who’s who in the sector.

Nicola Barret (NGO Specialist)

Nicola has 20 years’ experience as a consultant and employee, and both donor and grantee, across a range of sectors. Nicola has a eye for detail particularly in relation to planning, monitoring, reporting and impact evaluation. Her background is in high value fundraising and donor engagement, strategic development, programme and funding management, reporting and evaluation, mentoring and organisational reviews. She has secured and managed multi-million, multi-year commitments from international trusts, foundations and government donors, and managed teams to exceed annual income targets. Nicola has specialised in building effective and lasting working relationships, breaking down silos and barriers to ensure collaboration and maximum impact.

Claire Glazebrook (Heritage and Arts)

A resourceful and creative fundraiser and strategic planner and thinker, who has worked at Director and Board level for over nine years in the charity sector, for some of the UK’s most prestigious organisations including Royal Hospital Chelsea, Bletchley Park and UNESCO. Claire is our lead Arts and Heritage consultant. An area that she is passionate about.
